About WCT Associates, Inc.

WCT Associates, Inc. was established in 1977 as The Taylor Simpson Associates, Inc. and has operated continuously under its present name since 1990, serving the design and construction industry’s engineering needs. The firm provides consulting services for commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, hospitality and residential facilities primarily in the southeast region.

For over 30 years, the firm through W. Carl Taylor P.E., R.A., one of the founding principals, has provided structural analysis, design and investigation of steel, concrete, precast, wood, light guage, pre-engineered and masonry low and mid-rise buildings and structures.  The firm's projects have utilized foundations of wood and steel piles, caissons and conventional shallow systems.

Mr. Taylor is licensed as an engineer in Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, and Utah and as an architect in Florida (AR0016736), North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Tennessee, and Virginia.

About the Team

W. Carl Taylor,  P.E., SECB, R.A.  Carl has a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Architecture degree with over 40 years experience in structural and architectural analysis and design and project management.  In addition to the management of WCT Associates, Inc., Carl has served as the director of several discipline A/E departments in two firms.  His strengths include his dual education and practice in architecture and engineering, which allow him to better understand the programming and technical needs of the client and develop unique solutions to structural issues allowing for the most creative architectural and functional designs.  Carl holds certificates with the Structural Engineering Certification Board, NCARB and NCEES and memberships in the American Concrete Institute and the National Society of Professional Engineers. 

Jeffrey D. Davis, E.I.T. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with over 6 years experience in structural engineering design and analysis, and preparation of construction documents under Carl's direction.  In addition, he worked for 3 years as an architectural designer in Central Florida.  His structural engineering and project management experience includes structures of steel, cast-in-place and precast concrete, wood, masonry, light gauge metal, and conventional shallow. Facility types include commercial, religious, educational, industrial, multi-unit and single-family residences.

Susan S. Bouler   Susan has been a part of WCT Associates, Inc.'s team for over 20 years, providing preliminary analysis and CADD production for many of the firm's premier projects.  Her personal design of private residences and retail experience in construction materials enhances her qualifications.
